Will Softwashing Damage My Plants?

No — when done professionally, softwashing will not damage your plants or garden.

Before any softwashing begins, all nearby plants and grass are pre-soaked with clean water and, where needed, covered or protected. This prevents any cleaning solution from being absorbed by leaves or soil.

We also use carefully measured, professional-grade solutions designed to break down safely once diluted. After cleaning, the area is thoroughly rinsed, leaving plants unharmed.

Since starting his exterior cleaning business back in 2019, Dave has gained a great deal of knowledge and experience in exterior cleaning.

Dave began with gutter emptying and gutter deep cleaning, his business was set up in Honiton and Dave still runs a successful business in East Devon. Many customers have left Google reviews following the services offered by Dave.

As part of the gutter cleaning business, Dave wanted to widen the service offerings of his business ‘Gutter Cleaning Honiton’ and ‘Gutter Cleaning Halberton’ where Dave now lives. This lead Dave to studying the subject of Softwashing, the simple solution to the green and black algae which can make a beautfiul home look tired and grubby.

In 2025, Dave and his eldest son Freddy have established ‘Walker Softwashing’ as a joint venture, with the main focus being the cleaning and maintaining of the rendered walls and garden patios using various bicides designed to safely clean and improve your home.
